How to Submit Changes and New Stories

In order to fully become a collaborative source, changes, updates and new stories related to the RSMIN Heritage are welcomed from the community and the public. There are a few ways to become a contributor.

Traditional Knowledge Contributor: Stories about the past, ways of life, methods of cooking, fishing and hunting, and many dealings of the past, have been passed down from the community’s ancestors, however, are not always ideas that have been written down. Our community has a rich heritage that has been passed down through the generations using dialogue, demonstration and interpretation. If you, or a member of your family, have a personal story about the past or heritage that you would like to share, please write to us to arrange a meeting with one of RSMIN’s Historical Researchers. The Historical Researcher will capture your story using an agreed upon method (ie. Audio recorded, Written, Filmed, etc.). You may also submit it as New Information (see New Information Contributor section below). Preserving traditional knowledge is important for education and future generations. Your story could be an important part of the community’s heritage, and could become part of the larger story. We would love to hear from each and every one of you.

New Information Contributor: Being a collaborative source means that the public is welcome to submit new research and create new page contributions, as well as make additions to existing pages. New information could consist of, but is not limited to; your own written personal story, a family member’s story, books, pictures, art, photos, new research, legal documents, diaries and journals. As a contributor you may remain anonymous or be credited for your research, that is your choice. Just know that your submission may be subject to review, editing, and/or further research, done so by other contributors.

Changes Contributor: If you read something that is incorrect, misspelled, or misleading, or you have information to add to an existing page, because the RSMIN CHW is a collaborative source, anyone from the public can become a contributor and submit a change or edit. When submitting the change, be sure to include the title of the page, which paragraph on the page requires the change, what it currently reads, and what the change should read. As a contributor you may remain anonymous or be credited for your research, that is your choice. Just know that your submission may be subject to review, editing, and/or further research, done so by other contributors.

Note: Currently, all contributions are being vetted and reviewed by the RSMIN Bring It Forward Project team. This is to ensure the RSMIN CHW remains a relevant source of information to the RSMIN Community. Not all information and stories contributed are guaranteed to be published.
